Provider Qualifications

Ms. Hinds, the founder and director of Growing Sprouts has been living in the Trumbull area since 1998. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Communications from Syracuse University and a certificate in Human Resources Studies from Cornell University. Ms. Hinds has been working in education since 1991, first beginning her career working as a counselor and instructor for hearing impaired students at Rochester Institute of Technology.

Ms. Hinds has been working one on one with local youth as a mentor, tutor and caregiver for children ages 0 - 18. Her own children, as a result of her patient and nurturing guidance and tutelage, hold four Ivy League degrees between them. Her extensive background in education prepared her for her role as the director of Growing Sprouts.

Ms. Hinds is a member of the All Our Kin Family Child Care Network and sits on the Board of Directors for All Our Kin. Through All Our Kin, she frequently attends professional development trainings that keep her up-to-date on the latest findings in child growth and development—this allows her to better provide a quality child care and learning experience to the young children in her program.

License and Certifications

Ms. Hinds is licensed through the State of Connecticut as a family child care provider. She also has her Medication Administration Certification and is CPR/First Aid certified.
